Has/Have got

These are special expressions that show possession as well as used helping verbs for making a specific sentence.

Has ever use with the third person he, she, it.

Have ever used it with the first and second person I, you, we, they.

Has used with:

She- has

He- has

It   -  has

Singular noun- has

Have used with:

I   -  have

You - have

We - have

They - have

Plural nouns-Amir and Salman

Usage:

  • She has new friends.
  • He has a bad cold.
  • You have seen a horror movie.
  • Dania has a speech in school.
  • They have met the president.

Contraction forms

 A contraction is a single word formed by combining words that replace one letter through apostrophe (').

It's

There are three parts of sentence.

  • Affirmative sentences.
  • Negative sentences.
  • Interrogative sentences.

Affirmative /Simple sentences

These sentences have positive sense.

Formula:

S – have/has -noun

  • I have a car.
  • Bilal has a shirt.
  • They have result.

Negative sentences

These sentences have negative nature and have negation such as,no,not, never, nothing and nobody.

Negative formula

S-do/does- not-has/have-noun

  • I don't have  a car.
  • Bilal does not a shirt.
  • They don't have  result.

Interrogative sentences

These sentences have questions to ask about someone to something.

Formula

Do/does-s-has/have-noun

  • Do  I Have a car?
  • Does Has Bilal a shirt?
  • Do Have they result.

Used as helping verbs

Helping verbs work as to support main verb and indicate the speculation of something,and tell how a verb Change it's mood according to sentence.

  • Taha has done B.Ed.
  • Asma has spent much money on her dresses.
  • I have spoken a lie.
  • Haroon has quit his job.
  • They have built a building.

Have as continuous:

  • They are having a conversation in Urdu

Has/Have got

These mean identical things or the same meaning, use as the present situation in a sentence.

Mostly, the UK used "have got" in their purpose of the language.

In the US used has/have in the purpose of their language.

  • We have four pigeons.
  • We have got four pigeons.
  • Babar has a toothache.
  • Babar has got toothache.
  • Reema and Nida have a rabbit.
  • Reema and Nida have got a rabbit.

As negative use

  • Arshad doesn't have breakfast.
  • Arshad hasn't got breakfast.

Use as questions

  • Do you have a plan? Yes, I do
  • Have you got a wedding card? No, I haven't.

Passive structure

Get is used place of Be in passive sentences.

Get +past participle

  • You got spoken indeed.
  • Amjad got finished his work.
  • Adil got annoyed soon.

Characteristics

  • Have/has got are at the same level.
  • We cannot use have got in a short answer.
  • Have got mostly represent informal structure.
  • Have is an action verb.
